City of Portland Sunday Parkways promotes healthy active living through a series of free events opening the city’s largest public space – its streets – to walk, bike, roll, and discover active transportation while fostering civic pride, stimulating economic development, and represents the community, business and government investments in Portland’s vitality, livability and diversity.
In 2019, the Portland Green Loop Sunday Parkways was held in the historic North Park Blocks, a green oasis downtown along with other engaging downtown and inner eastside gems for the route. This route was inspired by the Green Loop which presents a bold new concept featured in the Central City 2035 Plan that envisions a linear park connecting nearly a dozen districts. This linear park would stop by countless cultural hot spots like the Portland Art Museum, North Blocks and the Rose Quarter.
On August 25 2019, team members from the I-5 Rose Quarter Improvement Project talked with community members at an information booth. Staff answered questions, shared project information and took public comment.
